Services Provided

• Safehouse for victims of domestic violence (with or without dependent children) can live in safety and confidentiality. A place where they can find emotional support while making plans for the future.
  
  

• The Crisis Center has an Outreach Program in the rural areas of Matagorda County, that includes Matagorda, Sargent, Palacios, Markham, Van Vleck and Blessing. Our Wharton County Outreach Office, located in Wharton, offers services to Wharton County.
  
  

• Workshops regarding Domestic Violence and/or Sexual Assault are available to any group within the area. Educational programs are available on Dating Violence and Date Rape. For more information or to schedule a speaker, call The Crisis Center office between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Workshops are also available for law enforcement which are TCLEOSE accredited.
  
  

• 24-Hour Crisis Hotline - Information and referrals are available for individuals in a crisis situation needing help or information on family violence, sexual assault, suicide, substance abuse, etc.
  
  

• Protective Orders - Our trained advocates work closely with law enforcement and the county attorney's office to obtain protective orders. Accompaniment is also available to law enforcement, the hospital and to court for victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
  
  

• Counseling - Advocates and therapists who serve as non-judgemental friends and help victims identify their options. Someone who will listen.
  
  

• Resale Shop - MCWCC provides victims with clothing, household items and furniture free of charge when needed to assist in starting a life free from viollence.
