The Bay City Adult Learning Center, operating under the auspices of BCISD Community Education and Wharton County Junior College, can help you achieve any or all of these goals.

When Can I Come?

Day General Educational Development (GED) Classes:
Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
Night GED Classes:
Monday and Wednesday, 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Night English Second Language (ESL) Classes:
Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30 pm - 9:00 p.m.

WHAT'S ON THE GED?

All questions on the GED tests are multiple choice with five possible answers, except for Part II of the Writing Skills Tests, which requires an essay. The questions range from easy to difficult and cover five subject areas:

Writing skills
Social Studies
Science
Interpreting Literature and the Arts
Mathematics

WHAT DOES IT COST?

Classes are free. All they cost is your time. The GED costs $46, which includes a $10 state fee, $6 national fee and $6 a test ($30 for the five sections).
