Bay City North 4-H Club will have its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 at the fairgrounds multipurpose building.  Everyone is reminded to bring canned goods for the food drive.

Enjoy playing bingo in a smoke-free building every Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. starting Nov. 2 at V.F.W. Post 2438 on Texas 60 North.

Join the Pilot Club of Bay City for an evening of dinner by candlelight and good music from the Coastalaires.  Tickets are $6 for the spaghetti supper from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Bay City Service Center.  See Sheri at The Daily Tribune for tickets.  To-go plates will be available.

The Blessing Altar Society is sponsoring a barbecue turkey dinner and auction at St. Peter's Parish Hall in Blessing on Sunday, Nov. 4 starting at 11 a.m.  Cost is $6 per plate and all proceeds benefit St. Peter's Building Fund.

The next meeting of the Van Vleck Athletic Booster Club will be held on Monday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Van Vleck High School Library.  Everyone is invited to attend.

The Bay City Kiwanis Club is having its annual Pancake Supper from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 at the Bay City Service Center.  There will be a silent auction.
The Matagorda County SPCA will hold a three day Holiday Photo Shoot Fundraiser with photos of cats, dogs, and/or humans done by a professional photographer.  The fundraiser will be from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-6 p.m. on Nov. 2-3 and 9 by appointment only.  Allow 15 minutes per sitting.  Call 361-972-8995 to make an appointment or SPCA at 323-8787 for information.

There will be a Project Graduation meeting Monday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. in the Bay City High School Library.  Senior and their parents are invited to attend.

The Eta Mu Sorority of the Van Vleck Athletic Booster Club will be held on Monday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Van Vleck High School Library.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Bay City Chapter No. 380, Order of the Eastern Star, will have its annual Thanksgiving Dinner at 6 p.m. at the Masonic Temple at 3301 Ave. F in Bay City.  Guest speaker will be Carolyn Cox, Deputy Grand Matron of District 4 section 9 of El Campo.  Members are asked to bring side dishes/dessert.  A meeting will follow at 7:30 p.m.

Bay City High School invites the public to attend its College Career Night on Nov. 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  A turkey and dressing dinner will be served at 5 p.m.  For more information, call 979-245-5771. 

The Bay City Blackcat All-Sports Booster lLub is currently having its annual membership drive.  The club supports all boys and girls sports and gave $10,800 in scholarships range from $15 to $100.  For more information, call 979-245-5141.

The Gulf Coast Knights will be sponsoring their monthly cruise-in at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month at Gem's Pancake House, 3729 Seventh St., Bay City.  All cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome.  For more information, cal 979-244-3711.

Teen Court is looking for volunteers the first second and third Tuesday of each month.  Teen Court meets from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bay City Municipal Court Building on 6th Street.  For more information contact B. J. Wise at 979-245-1401.

The Blessing American Legion Cecil Lee Post 249 holds bingo at 2 p.m. each Sunday.  The public is invited to attend.  For more information, call 979-245-6321.

The Bay City Evening Lions Club is seeking new members.  The club meets at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at Cattleman's Restaurant.  If you are interested in becoming a member of Lions, contact Helen Wagner at 979-244-1777.

The Bay City Lioness Club is a service organization that meets from noon to 1 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays, of each month at the Cattlemen's Restaurant.  To make reservations, or for information on joining, call Jamie Hoffman at 979-245-1572.

The Matagorda County Alzheimer's Family Care and Share Group meet at 6:30 p.m. in Conference Room A at Matagorda General Hospital.  This support group is free and open to the public.  This group meets the first Monday of each month.  For more information about Alzheimer's disease, contact Jan Sims at 979-241-6877.

The Matagorda County Crime Stoppers needs the public's help in solving crimes.  Anyone with information about a crime in Matagorda County is asked to call 979-244-TIPS (8477) or 1-800-299-BUST (2878).  Information leading to a felony arrest and/or a grand jury indictment may earn the caller a cash reward.  Callers to Crime Stoppers do not have to give their names.

Project Rio is an employment service program specifically for ex-offenders.  The Texas Workforce in cooperation with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Texas Youth Commission provides special services designed to reintegrate ex-offenders into the workforce.  Project Rio provides incentives and benefits to employers who hire ex-offenders.  For more information on Project Rio contact Kay Roberts at Gulf Coast Careers, 3501 Ave. F in Bay City, or call 979-245-4808, Ext. 205.

The Crisis Center needs your tax-deductible donations for its resale shop.  Proceeds from the resale shop to go to help maintain the shelter and also help clothe those in need.  Donations may be brought by 2805 4th St., Bay  City, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Monday through Friday.  All items must be in good usable condition.
