Local Volunteers Needed

The American Red Cross is in need of Local People to fill volunteer
positions.

Tropical Storm Fay has hit many people in Matagorda County and the
Surrounding Counties. Volunteers are needed to serve each County as:

Mental Health Professionals: Licensed Mental Health Counselor,
Licensed Professional Counselor,
Licensed Social Worker, or
Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor (generalists)

Family Services: Caseworkers (Will Train) helpful skills: Interviewing
skills

Assist our Mobile Service Teams: Guides for Drivers of Emergency Response
Vehicles: (skills) knowledge of surrounding areas and navigation.  Will also
assist in serving meals and distributing relief supplies.

Communication Technicians: helpful skills: telephone installation.  (Will
Train)

Handy Persons:  We need help loading and unloading vehicles

Office Aides:  Persons to assist with filing, copying, collating, answering
phones

American Red Cross Disaster Response HQs for local counties
is located at:
 2801 15th Street Bay City Texas, 77414 (Vocational Building at Old High
School) East Entrance. Contact Local Disaster Volunteer Coordinator at
979-323-1405

Volunteers needed daily from 8a.m. to 7p.m.
Service areas covered include Matagorda and Brazoria Counties.  Volunteer
Teams may also be needed for special projects from time to time.  Call to
explore the possibilities and if you wish to offer skills or services not
identified on this flyer.
