Mission
Might is a humanitarian association of independent community organizations
which may be active in all phases of disaster prevention and relief. Its
mission is to foster efficient, streamlined service delivery to people affected
by disaster, while eliminated unnecessary duplication of effort, through
cooperation in the four phases of disaster: preparation, response,
recovery, and mitigation.
MIGHT accomplishes its mission by adhering to the following principles:
- Cooperation - among MIGHT member organizations at all levels
and in all phases of disaster.
- Coordination - of the development of MIGHT policies and
procedures, and, the implementation of the services among MIGHT member
organizations with links to national and international disaster relief
organizations.
- Communication - exchange and disseminate information among
members and the public, as well as local, state, and federal agencies, in
conjunction with the individual MIGHT members.
- Collaboration - Member organizations of MIGHT will work
together to achieve specific goals and projects at disaster sites.
MIGHT will form partnerships during the disaster response.
